A private investigator can help you get the answers you need when you are unable to get the answers you need on your own. It is seldom an easy situation, and there is likely to be some sort of injustice, an untraceable person, or something you can’t quite gather the information that you desire.

We are usually brought in when people have exhausted all options and have questions they can’t ignore.

What we do will ultimately depend on the situation. At times, it may include hours of surveillance. In others, it could also mean digging up information and background checks on a person, reuniting people who have lost touch, or even helping with information for a court case.

What exactly do we do while investigating?

A private investigator begins by talking through the situation with you. This is important because the details can change the way we approach an investigation.

For instance, if you are trying to do some surveillance, you may find that we will have to keep close watch on an individual and note down all behaviours and whereabouts. Surveillance can take photographs, videos and notes, depending on the case.

It is a waste of time to collect information that won’t help answer your questions.

Background checks are something else that we do. Perhaps you are trying to meet new people, but you want to know more about who they are before you get too involved. You may have had information that doesn’t quite add up, so you want to find out legally what you can about another person. We will find out what can be found and report it back to you in full.

We can even assist in locating individuals. If an individual is lost or it becomes hard to contact him or her, it becomes frustrating looking for a way forward. We can follow any leads we have and conduct inquiries to try to trace them.

Are relationship investigations the only thing private investigators do?

While we handle many relationship based investigations, it is not the only thing that we do. We also look into child custody issues, child abduction, missing persons, workplace issues, fraud and business investigations. Each case is different, which is why we work individually with each client to find out what it is you need.

Sometimes a client will already know what they want us to look into. Other times, they might not have any idea of how we can help. We can talk through the options and work on your case.

Can private investigators follow people?

There are legal limitations to what we can and can’t do as a private investigator. We have to operate under Australian laws of investigation and can’t go above and beyond to get the information that we need.

This could include illegal searches, trespassing and more. Evidence is useless to us if it can’t stand up in court.

At Spousebusters, we keep it simple. We find out what we can and report back accurately to you. We know that contacting a private investigator is difficult, especially if it’s a sensitive issue. This is the reason why we handle all inquiries with the utmost discretion.

Most Australians don’t think they’ll ever need a private investigator—until the day they do. But when that day comes, and that person is YOU, there’s only one question you need to ask yourself: which PI agency has the licensing, experience and track record to get you real answers?
